Okay, final video. When you’re done, it’s time to get iWALKing! Here’s three key tips before you set off.
Adjust BOTH the upper AND lower section of the crutch to the correct height.
Tighten all 3 straps REALLY, REALLY TIGHT. For control and stability, you need the iWALK2.0 to become an integral part of your leg. So strap ’em down!
A very important and probably most overlooked adjustment. Fortunately, it’s easy! Don’t skip this essential step, follow the instructions to the letter.
Pick an environment that allows you to take as many steps as possible without turning around or navigating around objects. Ideally, you will have a wall or rail to give you confidence. Hallways work well.
Hard level surfaces are the best. Definitely avoid padded carpets for learning.
3. BE CONFIDENT
When walking on the crutch, commit all your weight onto it, just as you would when walking normally. You’ll learn much faster than if you’re too tentative.
